XSiL Hires Coherent GM Terry Hannon as Exec VP
XSiL Ltd. of Dublin, Ireland, announced today it has appointed Terry Hannon, most recently vice president and general manager of Coherent Inc.'s Solid-State business unit, as executive vice president, effective immediately. Hannon will be based in Silicon Valley, at XSiL's facilities in Morgan Hill, Calif. He brings to his new position extensive knowledge and experience in lasers and optics, as well as an ability to develop strategic partnerships with suppliers and customers in the microelectronics and flat panel display industries. Hannon received his honors degree in physics and master's in optoelectronics from Queen's University in Belfast and is currently completing his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
