HOLLISTON, Mass., July 25 -- Zygo TeraOptix, a Holliston Mass.-based subsidiary of Zygo Corp., has received a contract to develop and manufacture components and sub-assemblies for LightChip Inc. of Salem, New Hampshire. Zygo TeraOptix will develop, produce and package the components and subassemblies for Light Chip's proprietary dense wavelength division multiplexing products to be used in the development and commercialization of optical networking systems. The prototype sub-assemblies from Zygo TeraOptix to date have surpassed our delivery and functional performance expectations , commented Ian Turner, senior vice-president of engineering at LightChip, Inc. We are extremely delighted with this association with Zygo TeraOptix, and expect to leverage their collective engineering and high-volume manufacturing experience to scale rapidly.
