NP Photonics has shipped its 1000th laser from production in May 2010.

"We are very excited to reach this milestone," said Micki Downey, president and CEO of the company. "Our unique ability to produce the highest performance lasers that meet the requirements of demanding industrial fiber optic sensing environments continues to make us the market leader. We look forward to taking advantage of the forecasted growth in this area."

The company also has entered into distribution agreements in Asia with Acme Microsystems, Laser Science Services PVT, Tokyo Instruments and Zugo Photonics. Each business unit will be responsible for the sales and service of NP Photonics products in their assigned territories.

"In partnering with our new distributors, we continue to execute on our strategy to penetrate the market in Asia," said Terry Hannon, vice president of marketing and sales for NP Photonics. "We will now be able to provide a broader sales and support network to grow our presence and increase business in Asia."

NP Photonics manufactures fiber lasers for the sensing, medical and research markets. Its proprietary fiber technology is used across a broad family of products including narrow-linewidth, low-phase-noise fiber lasers specifically designed for operation in industrial environments.
