iXblue, Hubert Curien Laboratory Collaborate on LabH6

IXblue and the Hubert Curien Laboratory have created a joint research laboratory called LabH6, where researchers will focus on the study of optical fibers and optical fiber-based sensors in harsh environments.

The iXblue photonics division and the Hubert Curien Laboratory at Institut d’Optique Graduate School, which have been studying the vulnerability of optical fibers in a variety of nuclear environments since 2006, will open the joint laboratory to allow the research activity to be structured within the framework of a national policy, to establish closer ties between scientific researchers and economic partners in France.

The partnership combines iXblue's research and development capabilities in fibers and components, and the experimental and modeling tools of the Hubert Curien Laboratory. LabH6 will characterize the vulnerability of different types of materials and optical fibers in radiative environments, to understand and identify the mechanisms that are at the origin of this deterioration, and to develop and confirm simulation tools capable of predicting how they will respond.
