ACT Label Certified LED Illuminator

CoolLED - ACT Label Certified LED IlluminatorThe CoolLED pE-400 Series Illumination Systems combine sustainability for fluorescence microscopy and optogenetics. Both the pE-400 and pE-400max Illumination Systems include four intense LEDs offering broad spectral coverage from 365-635 nm for all common fluorophores ranging from DAPI through YFP to Cy5.

LEDs are the go-to sustainable approach for microscopy illumination. Compared to traditional lamps, the technology eliminates toxic mercury and significantly reduces energy consumption. CoolLED has taken this one step further by securing ACT Label certification for its pE-300 Series – and now the pE-400 Series. This independent initiative from My Green Lab supports laboratories in achieving their sustainability goals, in turn improving the sustainability of scientific research as a whole.

ACT stands for Accountability, Consistency, and Transparency and is like an eco-nutrition label for lab products, providing information about the environmental impact of manufacturing, using, and disposing of a product and its packaging. By understanding the environmental impact of equipment, this helps labs make sustainable purchasing choices. And by having a score, this helps suppliers such as CoolLED focus on ways to reduce their impact even further and become as sustainable as possible.

About the pE-400 Series
The white light pE-400 Illumination System offers a modern lamp replacement, which is ideal for applications such as fluorescence screening or sample visualisation on confocal setups. For more demanding applications such as high-speed live cell imaging and optogenetics, the four-channel pE-400max also includes individual channel control. Ability to fit optional inline excitation filter holders also removes mechanical latency of filter wheels for high-speed multi-channel experiments. Combining these features with the four-channel Sequence Runner transforms a manual microscope into a cost-effective automated imaging system by triggering illumination sequences with a camera’s TTL output.
