Founded in 1957, Cosmo Optics is involved primarily in prototypes of optical components and assemblies for industrial and scientific use.

Small-scale production is also frequently undertaken. Cosmos’ wide range of facilities enables fabrication, testing and assembly of the most intricate optics, including components from glass, quartz, crystals, ceramics and plastic materials for the UV, VIS and IR regions, as well as various metals.

Grinding

Grinding & generating of conventional optics and machining of odd shape configurations.

• Curve generating up to 30″
• Plano surface generating up to 36″
• Air bearing table for highly accurate machining and centering of large elements
• Glass saws up to 18″ diameter blades accuracy of cutting to within 0.005″

Polishing

Traditional “foot pedal” benches for small elements as well as ultra precision elements.

• Plano surfaces up to 60″
• Spherical surfaces up to 48″
• Cylindrical surfaces up to 24″
• Micro optics as small as 1.0 mm
• Ultra precision ball and air bearing spindles for centering
