Deposition Sciences line of high laser damage threshold (LDT) coatings are specially designed for use with lasers and other high-energy systems. These coatings feature laser damage threshold levels as high as 25 MW/cm². Ideal for diode, diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS), and gas lasers, the low insertion loss coatings provide extremely low reflectance with an AR coating performance rating of R< 0.25 percent. High LDT performance combines with the company’s field-proven ability to uniformly coat many different component geometries, including complex shapes.

DSI’s new line of LDT coatings have been successfully deployed in a variety of critical applications, with components such as micro lenses, fiber lenses, collimators, beam-shaping optics, ball lenses, hemispherical lenses, LED lenses, and reflectors. The company’s proprietary low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) process is used to provide excellent coating performance and high laser damage thresholds for a variety of laser systems.

DSI also provides an advanced photolithography production line which is capable of patterning 200 mm diameter wafers, including populated wafers containing active devices. Patterning at the 200 mm wafer scale provides enhanced detection in multi-spectral-imaging tasks by fusing together information from different wavelength bands.

Other DSI products include thin-film solderable coatings and face metallization on wafers. These are typically used for hermetic sealing of sensitive packages. These coatings can be patterned at wafer scale, making them compatible with a variety of wafer-level packaging operations.
