Diverse Optics transforms optical systems from expensive, heavy, and complicated to commercially viable, lightweight, and simple. We manufacture custom precision polymer optic components and assemblies. Our core processes include injection molding,
single-point diamond turning (SPDT), optomechanical design, metrology, assembly, bonding, and thin-film coating. Our company services a variety of industries:
Defense & Security, Commercial, and Medical, to name a few.
We offer prototyping to series production of components & assemblies including spheres, aspheres, domes, corner cubes, free-forms, anamorphic, diffractive, Fresnel, prisms, lens arrays, light-pipes, collimators, combiners, toroid, CPCs, TIR, micro-optics, reflective / mirror optics, parabolics, off-axis, ellipticals, cylinders, and more!
Diamond Turning:
Single Point Diamond Turning (SPDT) plays a key role in most of our polymer optics programs. Whether it's prototyping, tooling inserts, pilot production, or some combination of the three, diamond turning is a fundamental part of our process. We diamond turn in-house some of the most challenging optical elements with complex forms and shapes.
Precision Injection Molding offers:
• High volume series production
• Integration of optical and mechanical functionality
• Consistent part-to-part repeatability
• High precision to cost ratio
• Rapid production of precision polymer optics
Injection molding offers the greatest value when compared to other optics manufacturing processes. Nominal material cost coupled with a relatively low-cost manufacturing processes offer unbeatable savings compared to traditional glass optics manufacturing.
Optical Assembly:
Need a few optics assembled? Sure, we’ll do that for you too. Diverse Optics will also assemble optical elements with optical and non-optical (mechanical) parts to deliver a complete optical assembly. Our engineers are skilled at multiple types of optical and mechanical
assembly and bonding. We perform standard and UV cure alignment and bonding of multiple optical elements, using optical adhesives from Norland and Locktite.
Test & Measurement:
Need it tested before it’s delivered? Diverse Optics employs the most recognized names (like Zygo, Taylor-Hobson, and Nikon/Nexiv) in ultraprecision optical metrology to ensure the quality of your optics.
