Photonics Spectra
Jan 2019
CMOS Area Image SensorsThe S13101 and S13102 CMOS area image sensors from Hamamatsu Corp. are the active-pixel sensor (APS) type and offer high sensitivity in the NIR region up to 1100 nm.

The devices are suitable for imaging applications such as machine vision and IR security cameras. These all-digital image sensors have a built-in timing generator, bias generator, amplifier, and analog-to-digital converter. They also have a serial peripheral interface communication function for partial readout, gain switching, frame start mode selection, and more. They feature both rolling and global shutter readouts.

The S13101 CMOS area image sensor has an SXGA pixel format, a pixel size of 7.4 × 7.4 μm, and a 146-fps maximum frame rate. The S13102 CMOS area image sensor has a VGA pixel format, a 7.4- × 7.4-μm pixel size, and a 78-fps maximum frame rate.
