Silicon photomultipliers (SiPM)
Silicon photomultipliers from Hamamatsu are called Multi-Pixel Photon Counters (MPPC). And like its name implies, the MPPC is capable of detecting extremely low levels of light — down to single photons.

Detectors and light sources for LiDAR
From a LiDAR system’s design to its production, we’ve got you covered. We manufacture Si and InGaAs photodetectors for short- to long-range distance measurements — including PIN photodiodes, APDs, and SiPMs — and we offer pulsed laser diodes emitting at 905 nm. In addition, we provide light sources and cameras that can be used during a LiDAR system’s manufacturing and testing.

MEMS-based compact spectrometers
Hamamatsu offers a wide range of compact devices for UV-Visible, Raman, NIR, and FTIR spectroscopy. By combining MEMS and optical technologies to create miniature gratings and interferometers, we developed mini-spectrometers as small as 12 mm wide, NIR spectroscopy sensors in a compact TO-5 package, and a palm-sized device for FTIR.

OEM & scientific cameras
For OEMs, we offer standard and customized board cameras. Customization options include the sensor type, interface, cooling, and the camera’s size and form factor. For researchers, we offer a variety of sCMOS, CCD, and EM-CCD cameras for microscopy.
