IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced the UI-359xLE USB3 board-level camera with Aptina’s 18-MP AR1820HS sensor, designed for narrow installation situations.

A rolling shutter color sensor ensures detailed images at VGA, 4-K Cinema or 18-MP resolution. The ½-in sensor is light sensitive for high-resolution visualization applications such as microscopy, barcode reading, optical character recognition and medical engineering. A 36 × 36-mm board is featured.

Connection options include an eight-pin connector with 5-V power supply, trigger and flash, two general-purpose inputs/outputs and a I2C bus to control peripherals. A housed configuration is also available.
