Inrad Optics Inc. has long been known as one of photonics industry’s seminal crystalline products companies. In operation since 1973, we initially built a reputation on our ability to grow and fabricate crystalline materials to
exceptional quality levels. Today, we are a vertically-integrated photonics manufacturer offering:
• Crystal-based optical components and devices
• Custom optical components from both glass and metal
• Precision optical and opto-mechanical assemblies
Our components and value-added photonic devices are used in a wide variety of defense, aerospace, laser, medical, process control and metrology applications.
Powered by Materials Expertise
In addition to the knowledge developed over decades of growing and finishing nonlinear optical crystals, Inrad Optics has extensive experience with hard and soft, crystalline and amorphous, metallic and semiconducting, and notoriously challenging exotic materials. This experience allows us to optimize our processing techniques to get the best possible results from each substrate.
Precision Optics & Exacting Metrology
Inrad Optics fabricates and finishes all optical components and devices in our US-based facility, ensuring
complete traceability and
assured quality. To support our commitment to in-house manufacturing, we operate a world-class crystal growth facility, precision machining, grinding, and polishing capabilities and state-of-the-art
metrology systems. We verify performance across the spectrum, using mechanical testing, optical interferometry, x-ray diffraction, UV spectrophotometry, and infrared spectroscopy.
High Performance Assemblies
From high speed scanners and Q-switches to telescopes and fast neutron detectors, we specialize in the integration of
metal,
glass, and
crystal optics into optomechanical and electro-optical assemblies. We operate a wide variety of assembly equipment, allowing us to offer extensive functional testing, electronics integration services, and engineering support. Building on our custom manufacturing expertise, we can help you
optimize optical and opto-mechanical designs for cost reduction, ease of assembly and superior system performance.
