BK7 Windows for Traffic LiDAR Systems
Photonics MarketplaceKnight Optical offer a range of stock BK7 Windows, for use within traffic monitoring LiDAR systems. These LiDAR systems are used in traffic enforcement, whereby the system can determine the speed of passing vehicles. Where the system determines a violation of the speed limit, the system typically in conjunction with an ANPR system will automate the ticketing enforcement process. BK7 is one of the most widely used optical glasses available for use in the range from visible up to the near infrared. Making it ideal as a protective window for Traffic Monitoring LiDAR systems which operate at 1500-1560nm and between 850nm and 940nm. The BK7 can offer an uncoated average transmission of 92% between 300nm and 2000nm.
Additionally the BK7 is a cost effective precision glass, part of the borosilicate family, which therefore ensures you have a window fit for purpose. Stock sizes from 5mm to 75mm diameter; between 1.5mm – 8mm thick. Custom shapes and sizes available to quotation. Edging down to smaller diameters, square and rectangular apertures.
Typical specs: • Material: N-BK7 or equivalent • Diameter Tolerance: +0.0/-0.15 mm • Length/Width Tolerance: +/- 0.10mm • Thickness Tolerance: +/-0.10mm • Transmission: Tavg=92% dependant on substrate thickness
All our BK7 Windows are fully inspected on their quality in our ISO 9001 certified, state-of-the-art Metrology laboratory, using our FISBA, and Trioptic Prism Master. This allows us to work to the highest QA standards and meet the tolerance specifications on these precision components.
