Germanium Windows for Thermal Core
Photonics MarketplaceHere at Knight Optical, Germanium material is ideal for your IR applications with its broad transmission range and opacity in the visible portion of the spectrum. Our Germanium windows are not only used in IR sensors; but also in thermal cores. Typically operating in the 2µm to 14µm spectral range; that covers the LWIR (8-12μm) and MWIR (3-5μm) thermal imaging wavelength range.
Our Germanium windows are available from stock, custom sizes and shapes with Anti-Reflection coatings on one or both sides, and/or with Hard Carbon Diamond coatings. Custom coatings for Germanium windows available on request and to your specific requirement with diameters up to 300mm diameters.
Typical specs:
• Material: Germanium
•
Diameter Tolerance: Up to 300mm +0, -0.02mm
•
Thickness Tolerance: +/- 0.2mm
•
Flatness: < 2 waves over 90% aperture
•
Surface Quality: < 40-20 scratch/dig
•
