Photonics MarketplaceLaser Components FLEXPOINTThe FLEXPOINT® MVstereo is LASER COMPONENTS’ laser module that projects a randomly ordered point cloud of 33,000 individual dots for rapid 3D measurement tasks in automated pick-and-place systems, autonomous robotics, gesture recognition and surveillance applications.

Stereo vision, one of several 3D imaging techniques, calculates the volume of an object based on the position of dots that are simultaneously captured by two cameras from different angles. The pixels of the same object are then paired during digital image processing. The technique offers many advantages for surfaces with little or no texture or of single-color.

The FLEXPOINT® MVstereo laser is available in either 660nm (visible red) or 830nm (infrared) and meets laser class 1 or 1M requirements. The user can easily program the laser or retrieve data thanks to the embedded microprocessor-controlled electronics.

Customized OEM versions for special applications are available upon request.
