Laser Research Optics has announced a line of OEM compatible, field-replacement CO
2 laser lenses to provide deeper stock removal for popular wood cutting and engraving lasers.
The lenses are optimized for 10.6-μm wood cutting and engraving laser systems where depth-of-field is critical. Featuring 4-in. focal lengths to provide stock removal from ½ to 1-½ in., depending upon the laser wattage and wood species, the lenses are ideal for manufacturing awards, plaques, specialty boxes and related items. Effective for plywood, the lenses have 40-20 scratch-dig surface quality, <1/40th wave sphericity, and provide <0.2 percent total absorption values.
Designed as drop-in replacements for small Epilog, Kern, Laser Pro Engravers, Universal, and Vytek laser systems, the CO
2 laser lenses meet OEM and ISO-10110 specifications.
