Fiber Optics Sensing Association Formed

Jul 2017Fiber optics developer OFS has announced that it is a founding member of the newly formed Fiber Optics Sensing Association (FOSA).

FOSA aims to educate industry, government and the public on the benefits of cutting-edge fiber optic sensing technology and its application in today’s marketplace.

“OFS has been committed to developing and providing specialty fiber optic solutions and services since its inception,” said Mike Hines, market manager for industrial sensing at OFS. “We are excited by the founding of FOSA and its mission to help educate and firmly establish fiber optic sensing as a key enabling element in solving many of the infrastructure challenges that we face today. OFS looks forward to actively working with other FOSA members to expand opportunities in fiber optic sensing in North America and beyond.”

The Fiber Optic Sensing Association is an affiliate of the not-for-profit Fiber Broadband Association, which promotes the benefits of fiber optic networks and seeks to advance the deployment and use of these networks for a wide range of uses including sensing, telecommunications, internet and supervisory control and data acquisition.More news & features
