PI (Physik Intrumente) LP has announced the V-551 linear motor stage, part of the PIMag series.

The V-551 is equipped with a 2-nm-resolution absolute encoder. High velocity to 500 mm/sec along with quick acceleration is provided by an ironless, magnetic linear motor.

Crossed roller bearings with anticreep cage assist enable guiding accuracy (1 μm straightness/flatness per 100 mm).
