Automated Alignment System

Photonics Spectra
Jun 2023
Physik Instrumente’s air-bearing-based F-142 alignment engine is designed to be maintenance-free, wear-free, and particle generation-free, making it suitable for clean room applications. The automated multiaxis photonics alignment system’s 3-DOF alignment stage has a compact design, powerful algorithms, and intuitive software to provide users with ultra-fast, precise alignment capabilities for fibers, waveguides, and modern silicon photonics devices. The system’s multiaxis stage is based on friction-free air bearings and linear motors for high-throughput photonics test and production applications that require high dynamics and long-term stability. The system enables users to configure, tune, program, and characterize motion performance. The software package also includes ACS host application libraries.
