Perkins Precision Developments (PPD) manufactures
custom laser optics,
precision
optical assemblies, and thin-film coatings for R&D, prototype, and OEM
applications. PPD's optical fabrication,
ion-beam sputtering (IBS) coating processes, and precision assembly techniques enable
us to provide total optics solutions to difficult or unique customer
requirements.
Our low overhead structure and production flexibility are
designed to maximize both quality and value to our customers. Target
applications include semiconductor test and inspection equipment, high energy
laser systems, materials processing, medical instrumentation,
telecommunications, aerospace, security, and defense. Typical components that are manufactured in-house include
wedge windows, curved and plano
laser mirrors,
spherical
lenses, right angle
prisms, thin-film plate
polarizers,
dichroic mirrors, and polarizing
beam splitter cubes. Materials that we work with include Fused Silica, N-BK7,
Infrasil, Suprasil, Zerodur, ULE, MgF
2, CaF
2, YAG, Sapphire, Silicon, ZnS,
ZnSe, Crystal Quartz, Color Filter Glasses, High Index Glasses, and a variety
of Laser Crystals.
PPD utilizes IBS coating technology which is ideal for
complex spectral designs, high power lasers, and applications where it is
critical to minimize losses from absorption and scatter. Coatings are available
for wavelengths from 250 nm to 3000 nm and include V-coat AR, dual-AR, HR, BBHR,
dichroic, trichroic, beam splitting, polarizing, non-polarizing, and protected
metal designs.
Established in 2009 and located just 30 minutes north of
Denver, PPD is a small but growing company with extensive experience in optics
manufacturing. The company resides in a 7,000 square foot facility with a class
10,000 clean room. We have a full range of shaping, grinding, polishing,
assembly, and coating equipment that allows us to offer precision optical
components and assemblies in a wide variety of materials, shapes, and sizes.
