  • Company: Reynard Corporation
  • Type: Filters
  • Diameter / Dimension: 25mm - 100mm
  • Filter Category: Neutral Density Filter
  • Applications: Astronomy, Biomedical/Medical, Communications, Industrial, Military, Scientific Research, Other
  • Optical Density: 0 to 5
  • Surface Quality: 80-50 scratch/dig
  • TWE: < 2 waves per 25 mm
  • Wavelength: 375 nm to IR
  • Calibrated Wavelength: 632.8 nm

Continuously variable apodizing filters are used to eliminate intensity variations in optical systems. Inserting a variable transmission filter at the aperture stop will modify the diffraction pattern of a lens.

Two types: Clear Center, density distribution increases in a radial direction from the center to the edge, and Dark Center, density increases from the edge to the center of substrate.
