Evaluate Near-IR Lasers and LEDs
Measurement techniques for near-infrared (NIR) LEDs and lasers ensure the performance of light-based sensing, Time-of-Flight (ToF) presence and proximity gauging, and dot patterns used for identification and 3D mapping. To ensure performance and accuracy of devices and systems that use NIR light sources for these sensing applications, an effective test and measurement solution is needed. The Radiant Vision Systems NIR Intensity Lens system is an integrated camera/lens solution that measures the angular distribution and radiant intensity of near-infrared emitters. The NIR Intensity Lens system uses Fourier optics to capture the full 3D output of a light source in a single measurement to ±70 degrees, giving you extremely fast, accurate results ideal for in-line quality control.
Because all data points are captured in a single image, a rapid series of measurement and analysis (pass/fail) functions can be applied to the light distribution in seconds, evaluating radiant intensity, radiant flux, power solid angle, uniformity, and hot spots across diffused sources, as well as the accuracy of patterns created by diffracted laser light.
Key features of the NIR Intensity Lens solution:
• Evaluation of near-IR light sources including LEDs and lasers, such as vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSEL) • Accurate and reliable measurement of radiant intensity to ±70° angle
• High angular resolution (approximately 0.05 degrees per CCD pixel)
• Efficient operation, capturing data for all angles simultaneously. Faster than goniometric systems for analyzing angular data
• Compact form factor
• Easy-to-use automated measurement control and analysis software (TT-NIRI™ Software)
• Combination of low cost, high performance, and flexibility, designed for R&D and quality control in production
