CMOS Image SensorThe Flash CMOS image sensor series from Teledyne e2v Ltd. is tailored for 3D laser profiling and displacement applications, as well as high-speed, high-resolution inspection tasks.

Designed to enable easy and cost-effective integration for camera makers, the sensors include a wide range of application-based features including “High Dynamic Range” modes that enable the measurement and inspection of reflective surfaces and dark areas in the same image; a “Multiple Region of Interest” mode that provides a tradeoff between profiling rate and range/resolution in the height measurement; a “Frame-to-Frame Hot Changes” mode for flexibility and real-time adaptation to environmental conditions; and different trigger modes that allow customers to adapt depending on the speed of their production lines.

The sensors feature a 6-μm CMOS global shutter pixel, combining high resolution and fast frame rate. They are available in 2- or 4-k horizontal resolutions, with respective frame rates of 1500 and 1800 fps and respective readout speeds of 61.4 and 25.6 Gbps. The sensors come in a µPGA ceramic package fitting in standard optical formats.
