Matt Novak, Ph.D., is an experienced optical engineering leader with over 25 years of expertise in simulation, design, and metrology. He holds a doctorate in optical sciences and has led technical and product development efforts across a wide range of applications—from consumer electronics and space-based instruments to advanced optical metrology systems.
In 2004, Novak founded Technical Optics, LLC., and provided engineering services to customers like Texas Instruments and Johnson and Johnson. He has since held key roles in organizations including Synopsys, Amazon Lab126, and Bruker, and is a named contributor on multiple patents and publications. A Senior Member of both Optica and SPIE, Novak is passionate about advancing the field of optical engineering software to help teams solve real-world challenges through innovative design and modeling.
