Simion Astilean

Simion Astilean is a professor in the Faculty of Physics and director of the Nanobiophotonics and Laser Microspectroscopy Centre at Babes-Bolyai University. His research group (www.nanobiophotonics.ro) specializes in the synthesis of multifunctional hybrid nanoplatforms for applications in nanomedicine, biosensing, cell imaging, therapy, and drug delivery. His current research is focused on developing new targeted optical imaging nanoprobes for NIR real-time image-guided surgery of ovarian cancer.
