Mills cross (telescope)

The Mills Cross telescope is a two dimensional radio telescope in which the two antenna arrays are positioned perpendicular to each other to form the shape of a cross. Each antenna consists of several dipole elements. As voltage is applied to the cross, the dipole elements then produce a pencil beam which allows the telescope to receive radiation from a relatively small celestial area in the sky.
