isotopically selected laser spectroscopy

A spectroscopic technique in which an excitation band absorbs laser energy resulting in an electronic transition. The isotopic species may then be measured using a time of flight mass spectrometer. Tunable lasers may be applied for the analysis of multi-resonant transitions. Multilevel analysis may be pursued by two photon resonance using a single tunable dye laser or stepwise excitation by two wavelength resonances from two tunable dye sources.
