mutual coherent function (MCF)

A function that quantifies the performance degradation of coherent communications systems, imaging systems and all systems that rely on the spot size of a laser beam that has propagated along an atmosphere path; physically, the cross-sectional function of the optical fields that are separated by a distance in a plane that is normal to the direction of propagation.
