spectrogrammetric reading equipment

Spectra can be conveniently recorded on photographic film or plates. The portions that are occupied by regions of the recorded developed images on the film or plate can be determined with some accuracy with a ruler, but more accurately with a comparator. The intensity of radiation at any region may be found with considerable precision with a densitometer and by other types of photometric instruments.
