wedge photometer

A photometer that uses a wedge, marked to show its reduction of flux density, to make two light sources equal in intensity for comparison of luminous intensities. This is accomplished by the gradual insertion of the wedge before the more intense source until its intensity is reduced to that of the less intense source. By reading the wedge scale, it is possible to determine the proportion by which the flux density has been reduced.
