About this Event
Focal topic of the 5th forum is: Accuracy, Reliability and Limits of Machine Vision

This focal topic is highly relevant for both research and industry. Research can outline the theoretical limits and detail how far current state-of-the-art industrial solutions are away from the best possible solutions. Industry can contribute with information on the most urgent market demands for better solutions. Thus, the focal topic is ideal for a dialogue between research and industry to initiate new projects for the development of novel powerful and at the same time cost-effective systems in areas where there is a corresponding market need.

“Accuracy, Reliability and Limits of Machine Vision” This focal topic is highly relevant for both research and industry. Submit your contribution with regard to the questions such as listed below but not limited to: -What is the highest possible image resolution? -What limits the sensitivity and quality of image acquisition? -What are the limits of different techniques for 3D image acquisition? -To what extent can the image data stream be reduced in order to obtain the information of interest (compressive sensing)? -How tiny can image processing systems become and what is the minimum power required to operate them? -How reliable can image processing systems be? -How can the delay between image acquisition and evaluation results be reduced? -What are the limits and pitfalls of machine learning?
