SPIE Optics & Photonics 2013

SPIE Optics & Photonics 2013 SPIE Optics & Photonics 2013 features the latest advances in nanoscience, optical engineering, organic photonics, and solar energy research. Held every other year and back in 2013 is the track on astronomical instrumentation.

Approximately 4500 attendees will gather in San Diego Aug. 25-29 for the largest international multidisciplinary optical sciences and technology meeting in North America. The conference's more than 3200 presentations are largely organized under four symposia: NanoScience + Engineering, Solar Energy + Technology, Photonic Devices + Applications, and Optical Engineering + Applications.

Plenary session speakers include: Federico Capasso, Harvard, "Molding Optical Wavefronts: Flat Optics based on Metasurfaces" (NanoScience + Engineering); Andrew J. Ferguson, National Renewable Energy Lab, "Molecular Chromophores for Next-Generation Solar Photon Harvesting" (Solar Energy + Technology); Z. Valy Vardeny, University of Utah, "Spin Effects in Organic Optoelectronic Devices" (Photonic Devices + Applications); and Roger C. Wiens, Los Alamos National Lab, "Zapping Rocks on Mars: Exploring the Red Planet with Curiosity and its Laser" (Optical Engineering + Applications).

Stop by our booth

Visit Photonics Media at Booth 416, pick up the most recent copies of Photonics Spectra and Biophotonics magazines, and test your "light IQ" by playing our Light Masters trivia game. You don't have to be the top scorer to win -- just playing enters you into a drawing for a 16 GB Google Nexus 7 Tablet (we will give away one tablet on Thursday). And as always, you can visit us online at www.photonics.com
