About This Webinar

This webinar will address the basic principles and methods of machine vision optics and lighting and review some of the many advances in methods and components that have made machine vision easier to implement in recent years.

Machine vision technology is key to efficiently manufacturing a wide range of products today, from semiconductors to appliances to beverage containers. A crucial first step in any good machine vision application is developing the right optics and lighting for the application. With proper imaging and light arrangements the features to be inspected will be clear and easy to find. With the wrong optics and lighting these features can be obscured, difficult to analyze or completely invisible.

Join us for this webinar and learn how to design an effective vision lighting solution for your organization.

About the presenter:
Kevin Harding, president of Optical Metrology Solutions, LLC, has almost 40 years of experience in optical instrumentation, machine vision and optical metrology. In 2017, Harding retired from GE where he worked as a principal scientist covering a diversity of technologies from solar cells to biometrics. Before joining GE, Harding was director of the Electro-Optics Lab at the Industrial Technology Institute for 14 years. He has developed and chaired technical conferences and workshops including the industry recognized Optics and Lighting for Machine Vision, which he taught for over 15 years. Harding has been recognized for this work by many organizations including SPIE, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Robotic Industry Association. He has published over 140 technical papers, taught over 80 short courses and tutorials to industrial and academic audiences, and holds over 75 patents. He is the primary author and editor of the CRC Handbook on Optical Dimensional Metrology.

Who should attend:
Engineers, scientists, researchers, academics and others involved in machine vision, VGR, inspection, metrology, sensing and detection, and other areas relating to industrial illumination.

This webinar is sponsored by Smart Vision Lights, by Euresys s.a., and by Chroma Technology.
