SPIE Optics & Photonics 2014

O&P The SPIE Optics & Photonics Exhibition is the largest international, multidisciplinary optical sciences and technology event in North America. It features courses and plenary sessions, as well as the latest products and research in optical engineering and applications, solar energy, nanotechnology and organic photonics.

More than 30 courses will be offered in areas such as nanoscience, nanoengineering, illumination engineering, optical design and systems, photonic devices and applications, advanced metrology, detectors and imaging devices, CMOS, micro- and nano-optics, and professional development.

There will also be several workshops held for optics educators, including Light & Optics for Kids, Problem-based Learning for Teaching STEM, and Learning How Light Works.

Attendees will see the latest technologies exhibited, as well: optical components, fabrication and design; optics for astronomy; detectors, sensors and cameras; lasers, accessories and laser systems; computer hardware and software; signal imaging and processing equipment; fiber optics; optoelectronics; positioning and vibration-isolation equipment; LED and OLED technology; optical engineering software; test, measurement and analysis equipment; and more.

Presenting research and current projects will be schools and universities from across the globe. Among them: Air Force Institute of Technology in Ohio, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Beijing Institute of Technology, City College of New York, Duke University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, National Taiwan University, Rochester Insitute of Technology, Northwestern University, Technical University of Denmark, University of Melbourne in Australia and University of Warsaw.

There will also be a job fair on August 20.
