VNIR HSI Technology Can be Integrated With Consumer Devices
A cost-efficient hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology has been developed that could enable new artificial intelligence (AI) applications to be introduced into mobile devices, allowing for potential use in smart home systems. The camera uses very-near-infrared (VNIR) wavelengths to detect and label materials and properties of different objects within an environment. AI is used to interpret the environmental spectral data within the VNIR range.

Far-UVC Light Could Safely Limit Spread of Flu, Other Airborne Viruses
Far-UVC Light Could Safely Limit Spread of Flu, Other Airborne Viruses
Continuous low doses of far-UVC light have been shown to kill airborne flu viruses without harming human tissue. The far-UVC light inactivated the flu viruses with about the same efficiency as conventional germicidal UV light. Far-UVC light could offer a safe, low-cost solution to controlling airborne microbial diseases in indoor public spaces.
