The HTPA160x120 is our highest resolution thermopile infrared array inside a TO-8 housing, which is best for thermal imaging with a QQVGA resolution. Due to the digital SPI interface, only six pins are needed for operation. It has a 16-bit ADC and built-in FLASH, that stores all calibration data. The framerate can be set individually and depends on the sensor clock and ADC resolution. For high 16-bit resolution, framerates of 9 Hz are possible for the whole 160x120 format, while lower ADC resolutions and different gas filling allow framerates of up to 30 Hz and more. Different available optical lenses, integrated with the array in a TO-8 housing, provide fields of view (FOV) from 38x30 degree up to 123x84 degree.
Another application of the same array can be fast scanners, where only a fragment of e.g. 160x10 or 160x20 pixels are read out.
Such 160x10 arrays could be operated in global shutter mode and reach frame rates of up to 80…150 Hz, allowing the detection or measurement of hot objects in industrial conveyor belts, where NETD of about 300 ... 600 mK are sufficient
