Epix_pixciE4.gifEpix Inc. has introduced the PIXCI E4 frame grabber for the four-lane PCI express bus. Interfaced to either a base-, medium- or full-configuration Camera Link camera, the device captures images or sequences at sustained rates up to 700 Mb/s. Employing an advanced Altera chip with high-speed serial transceivers, it allows the dedicated PCI express bus to transmit image data to motherboard memory. The frame grabber supports high-speed cameras such as Basler’s A504 or Redlake’s 4020. An updated version of Epix XCAP software for 64-bit Windows or Linux accesses up to 16 terabits of memory for high-speed image storage and controls up to eight PIXCI E4 frame grabbers. The XCAP-Lite version software is included, and the more advanced XCAP-Ltd and -Std versions are optional.
