Fiber-Coupled Multibar Modules
DILAS Diode Laser Inc.
Dilas has announced its newest fiber-coupled multibar modules that deliver up to 1-kW output from a 400-μm core diameter fiber at 976 nm.
The high-brightness, high-power modules offer a compact footprint and a convenient aiming beam. Their 400-μm cladding-mode-free QBH (Optoskand) 400-µm fiber has a low numerical aperture of <0.2 and wall-plug efficiency of >35%. The bars are optically stacked by a proprietary beam stacking method and are polarization-coupled. State-of-the-art macrochannel coolers keep water requirements simple.
A 2-kW version will follow at wavelengths of 915 and 976 nm. All modules are available with either QBH or LLK-B industrial fiber connectors. An 800-μm core diameter fiber with a numerical aperture of 0.12 also is available.
Custom wavelengths can be supplied upon request. Line-narrow versions using volume Bragg gratings are offered as well, providing 800-W optical output power with a spectral linewidth of <1 nm full width half maximum.
The modules are suitable for use in direct diode applications and for fiber and solid-state laser pumping.
