For beam steering and beam shaping applications, Edmund Optics has launched its TechSpec fused silica wedge prisms, which are suitable for a variety of beam deviation options, whether used individually or in pairs. They offer good surface characteristics with λ/10 surface accuracy and 20-10 scratch-dig.

They deliver a low coefficient of thermal expansion and high transmittance for optimal performance in the range from the ultraviolet to the near-IR. Used individually, they can deviate a laser beam by a specific angle. In pairs, they can be used in a variety of beam steering applications.

Using two prisms creates an anamorphic pair to easily correct the elliptical shape of diode outputs. By rotating two wedge prisms independently of one another, pairs can be used to steer a beam anywhere in a circle, which is particularly useful for scanning a beam to different locations in a variety of imaging applications.

They are available uncoated in 0.5°, 1°, 1.5°, 2°, 2.5°, 4° and 5° beam deviations. N-BK7 versions are also available. They are in stock and available for immediate delivery.
