The 2000XL adhesive dispenser from EFD Inc. uses microprocessor circuitry for fiber optic assembly operations where accurate and consistent application of adhesives and epoxies is critical. Applications include bonding fibers to ferrules, sealing couplers and securing connector components. The company says the device can produce repeatable deposits as small as 0.008 in. in diameter. Adhesive is dispensed from a disposable barrel equipped with a precision tip. Process control is enhanced by digital displays of dispense time, air pressure and barrel vacuum. Up to eight time settings can be stored.
