The WaveHarp is an advanced distributed feedback laser from Princeton Lightwave Inc. that emits up to 300 mW in a narrow spectral band. Suitable for use as a wavelength-stabilized pump, its grating is integrated on the laser chip in a way that eliminates the need for an external fiber Bragg grating. It also eliminates the need for amplifiers in metro DWDM networks when used as a source laser. The company says this component provides increased bandwidth for long-haul or metro-area networks and covers the S-, C- and L-bands with any wavelength from 1280 to 1620 nm.
