MOTION CONTROL
Performance Motion Devices Inc.Request Info
Performance Motion Devices Inc. has released the Pilot MC3410, a single-chip instrument designed to control motion of a single axis in microstepping applications. It outputs a selectable 10-bit, 20-kHz pulse width modulation (PWM); an 8-bit, 80-kHz PWM; or a 16-bit DAC-compatible motor command signal. The chip is a 132-pin device, employing surface-mount CMOS technology and powered by 5 V. The motion processor is driven by a host microprocessor through an asynchronous bi-directional serial port, enabling users to offload resource-intensive motion-control functions from the host.
