Rad-icon Imaging Corp. has announced the RadEye3 large-area, high-resolution x-ray digital imager. It is configured from three RadEye1 photodiode arrays and has a 2:3 aspect ratio with 48-µm pixels, and an active diagonal sensing area of 90 mm. The 1024 x 1536-pixel image is scanned through three parallel independent outputs running at up to 2.5 MHz, enabling frame rates of up to 4.5 fps. The imager scans each frame in row-sequential format while maintaining a dynamic range of >14 bits and consuming <400 mW. Scanning and control functions are integrated on-chip, eliminating the need for complex external circuitry.
