tBlackbodyThe Pyrometer Instrument Co. Inc. offers its P310 precision blackbody calibration source. This compact portable unit has a built-in digital controller that can provide any temperature between ambient +10 and 300 °C, accurately to ±0.25% of the reading ±1 °C. The device provides NIST-traceable accuracy, has a 76-mm aperture and employs a conductive copper cone-shaped cavity that achieves emissivity of 0.99 or better over its entire temperature range. Optional RS-232 or RS-485 serial communications ports are available to allow output of the displayed temperature to an external PC controller. Applications include calibration of IR temperature sensors and imaging systems, heat flux meters, radiometers and spectrographic analyzers.
