The ADC2000 PCI-bus analog-to-digital converter from Ocean Optics Inc. is a plug-and-play, desktop PC interface option to its miniature fiber optic spectrometer. The 12-bit, eight-channel device provides 2-MHz sampling frequency and captures 2048 data points in the spectra in 2 ms. It fits into a desktop PC's standard PCI-bus slot and is compatible with any of the company's S2000 spectrometers by means of a 25-pin interface cable. The ADC2000 also features a channel rotator, which permits spectra from all eight channels to be gathered at once.
