The company says the module's footprint is 50% smaller than its predecessor, allowing OEMs greater flexibility. Designed for direct replacement of circuit-board-mounted butterfly packages, the EPM980 includes a 980-nm laser diode and a microlens optic in a hermetically sealed TO housing.
