Dymax Corp. is offering its new line of adhesives for doublet-bonding, lens-laminating, mounting and fixturing applications and for mirror, prism and fiber optics assembly. The company says their low shrinkage and flexibility minimize movement and eliminate birefringence. They adhere to lens construction materials as well as to metal, coated and painted frames, and holders. UV-blocking grades adhere to PVA, CR-39 and CAP, and provide UV/VIS protection to 410 nm. They are suitable for use in cameras, microscopes, tank periscopes and eye- and sunglass lenses. Opaque and clear grades are available for precise optical alignment and light-path applications, respectively, and many are offered in different viscosities. The bonders cure in seconds and have unlimited pot life.
