An integrated motion controller/ driver board that can simultaneously control up to four stepping motors has been introduced by Advanced Control Systems Corp. The MCB-4B has ministep capability and can control stepping motors with four, six or eight leads and phase current up to 3 A. Each axis is addressable, and several boards can be controlled by one computer communications port. The device achieves rates up to 50,000 steps per second and up to 16.7 million steps per move. It offers programmable acceleration/deceleration.
