Crystal GmbH has introduced a 473-nm solid-state laser for various OEM applications, including analysis and lithography. The FDSS473 is smaller than a computer mouse and has an air-cooled laser head that measures 110 x 44 x 34 mm and a power supply and control unit measuring 190 x 235 x 280 mm. The laser is available with either continuous-wave or pulsed output ranging from 5 to 20 mW. In continuous-wave mode, the amplitude noise is lower than 0.3% rms. In pulsed mode, laser radiation is modulated by a fixed pulse frequency of 1 kHz with 100% modulation depth and a reference signal output. The light is vertically polarized with a ratio of more than 100:1, and the TEM00 emission has a spatial quality of M2 <1.5.
