The Multiple-Master Self-Healing Ring from TC Communications Inc. can
recover link failures in a fiber optic communications network and is
available with the company's 8/12 channel Fiber Optic Multi-Drop
Multiplexer. The multiplexer provides two pairs of fiber interfaces,
and it interconnects up to 12 devices with independent RS-232 and
RS-485 interfaces over single- or multimode fiber optic cable. The
self-healing ring wraps around a failure point to maintain system
integrity.
